Description
Baznīca celta 1747. gadā, taču Pirmajā pasaules karā baznīcu nopostīja. Mācītājs Pauls Gailītis panāca, ka 1931. gadā sāk atjaunot dievnamu. Baznīcu pabeidza 1932. gadā, 1938. gadā baznīca saņēma Lielvārdes dzelzceļu aizsargu organizācijas dāvinājumu – K. Miesnieka altārgleznu “Jēzus Ģetzemenes dārzā”.
Baznīcas labiekārtošanai – koka altārim, kancelei un baznīcas soliem – līdzekļus dāvināja Latvijas prezidents Kārlis Ulmanis.
Vasarās baznīca atvērta apskatei (izņemot pirmdienas un otrdienas). Apmeklētājiem pieejams arī baznīcas tornis, no kura paveras iespaidīgs skats uz Daugavas plašumiem un visu parku.
Baznīca ir valsts nozīmes arhitektūras piemineklis, savukārt, altārglezna, altāris, kancele un baznīcēnu soli ir valsts nozīmes mākslas pieminekļi.
