Description
We are located in Kurmene parish, on the banks of the Memele River. For active and sporty recreation, we offer canoe rentals for water tourism on the Memele. The Memele is a border river between Latvia and Lithuania, which gives it a unique character. In Bauska, it joins with the Musa to form the Lielupe River. The Memele is one of the few navigable rivers in the Zemgale–Upper Zemgale–Selonia region. Interestingly, in its upper course the river has a steady flow with no pronounced rapids, while downstream from where the Suseja flows in, calm stretches alternate with small bubbling rapids – something for everyone to enjoy.

Latvijas Universitātes Rododendru selekcijas un izmēģinājumu audzētava “Babīte” dibināta 1980. gadā. Tā atrodas netālu no Rīgas, priežu mežā, 11,8 ha platībā. Audzētavā nodarbināti 18 darbinieki. Tā ir vienīgā specializētā rododendru audzētava Baltijas valstīs.
