Latvijas Fotogrāfijas muzejs ir atvērts apmeklētājiem kopš 1993. gada. Tas darbojas kā Rīgas vēstures un kuģniecības muzeja struktūrvienība. Muzejs ir iekārtots senā tirgotāju ēkā, kas saglabājusies no 16. gadsimta, un ekspozīcijas telpās iespējams apskatīt gan restaurēto daudzkrāsaino sienas gleznojumu, gan vēsturiskā parketa ornamentu uz grīdas.

The initial museum's treasure is the Rozental’s collection of the original works gathered by artist’s contemporary Marts Vējš.
